đŸș On The Prowl - Transfer Portal Tracker + CJB Analysis

Happy Tuesday folks. We are officially in the dumbest part of the football calendar.

Programs like State are scrambling, trying to figure out how to manage:

  • Coaching turnover
  • Current players transferring out
  • New players in the transfer portal that would like to transfer in
  • National signing day for high school recruits
  • Bowl practices and preparation

It’s a lot of stuff. Coaches make a lot of money for this, but this is a recipe for peak stress for staffs across the country.

Thankfully, we’ve got plenty on the way to keep you on top of everything.

First and foremost: I built this Transfer Portal Tracker to keep track of who is transferring in, out, who has committed to staying in Raleigh, and how all of this affects the depth chart. You can check it out here; highly recommend bookmarking this one as we progress through December into January.

One of those key pieces that State has retained is obviously C.J. Bailey. Alec put together a 4,500 word evaluation of Bailey - good, bad, in between - that I think should be mandatory reading for all State fans. It’s that good. We’ve also been uploading Trinity Road Tape segments every Tuesday and Thursday, and today’s short focused on a 4th and 12 read from CJ in the Syracuse game.

We have plenty more to get to: State needs to hire a defensive coordinator, our ECU scouting report is coming, and State will start landing commitments we can report on (hopefully) in the near future.

Stay tuned - plenty more is on the way.

Fall Camp is in full swing, and we are knocking on the door of N.C. State football. Becoming an annual tradition for me is going position by position and understanding if I think State is better or worse in each position group, mainly looking at first and second string. I've found this to be a helpful way to understand 1) who is playing where in this wacky transfer portal world with so many new faces, and 2) where strengths and weaknesses might lie with the team heading into August. We'll...

A wise philosopher once opined: Real G’s move in silence like Lasagna. Will Wade and staff might be assembling the best pasta bake in the country. It’s been difficult to follow Wade’s recruiting focus this offseason. They've kept things close to the vest. Silently, methodically, this group has been seemingly linked to every portal recruit and none of them at the same time. Many people who root against N.C. State - and some that root for them - have confused a lack of public information for a...

For most folks this year, Springtime in the world of the Wolfpack has been all about N.C. State basketball. Baseball, too - but I can’t talk about them without getting upset in light of last weekend’s Stanford debacle. In the background, Dave Doeren’s squad has quietly, methodically improved. They picked up several key additions on the defensive side of the ball and retained a wealth of offensive talent. Without the Spring game to serve as that “mile marker” of the football calendar, the...
